About Me

Who Am I?

My name is DL Thurston.  Well, David Thurston, but there are way too many David Thurstons in the world.  I’m a writer and computer administrator from Annandale, Virginia.  I consider myself a novelist first, but I’ve got some short fiction out and coming soon.  Out now is The Rustler in the Hydra Publications’ anthology Steam Works, coming soon is Home Again in the anthology The Memory Eaters.  I’ve dabbled in just about any kind of fiction writing, including short pieces, novels, series, screenplays, and even a spec pilot for a drama series.  My current project is a novel I’m coauthoring with my fantastic wife.

What can I say?  I love to write.

I’m also a member of the Cat Vacuuming Society of Northern Virginia, and contribute to the communal blog Unleaded: Fuel for Writers.

What Am I Doing?

Right now, I’m writing.  Writing and submitting.  Writing and editing.  Writing and getting to the occasional convention.  It’s the grind of a writer in the early part of his career, trying to just get his work out there and make a name for himself.  The end goal of all of this?  Writing and getting published.

What Is This Blog?

Generally it’s about tracking my thoughts on writing, my thoughts on getting into professionally writing, and even the occasional short story.  Really, it’s just sort of an anything and everything sort of space.
